Mission StatementMPA strives to provide interns a quality learning environment in order to acquire and develop the necessary skills needed for job placement and advancement in the magazine publishing industry. Critical to this development is an emphasis on networking, improving overall marketability and increasing exposure to current issues within magazine publishing.
Objectives
MPA's Magazine University, formerly known as MPA Summer Seminar Series for Magazine Interns, is an annual summer program that began in 1975. It was started to provide interns across all magazine disciplines an opportunity to come together and make contacts, give them a comprehensive overview of magazine publishing and increase their professional skills. Every year MPAs program provides interns with an exceptional opportunity to learn from top executives from every area in magazines. The series consists of five Wednesday morning sessions in July (see below for exact dates). This year the program will culminate with a Certificate Ceremony Luncheon for those interns completing all five session.
