magazine websites of the year
magazines may only enter one of of the following sub-categories:

• entertainment
  recognizes overall excellence and innovation in content, design, functionality and usability in magazine websites that focus primarily on the entertainment industry (film, tv, music, celebrities)
  
  fashion/beauty 
  recognizes overall excellence and innovation in content, design, functionality and usability in magazine websites that focus primarily on fashion and beauty topics
  
  news & social topics/business & finance
  recognizes overall excellence and innovation in content, design, functionality and usability in magazine websites that focus primarily on general news, social topics, business or finance
  
• service/lifestyle
  recognizes overall excellence and innovation in content, design, functionality and usability in magazine websites that primarily focus on regional living, food, home, entertaining, family, health, or hobbies
  
  sports
  recognizes overall excellence and innovation in content, design, functionality usability in magazine websites that primarily focus on professional and recreational sports

magazine blog of the year 
recognizes creativity, voice, writing style, the use of hyperlinks and comments to encourage conversation.a magazine may enter only up to 3 distinct blogs (not individual posts)

best online video -- standalone
recognizes creativity and content in a magazines standalone online video. the video must be original content created by the magazine. a magazine may only enter one video file

best online video -- series
recognizes creativity and content innovation in a magazines online video series. the series must be original content created by the magazine. a magazine may only nominate one video series, and must include two installments/episodes from that series

best podcast series
recognizes creativity and content innovation in a magazines podcast series. a magazine may only nominate one podcast series, and must include two installments/episodes from that series

best mobile strategy
recognizes innovative and effective use of the mobile platform. includes original content, wallpaper, ringtones, news alerts

best online community
recognizes the innovative and effective use online social networks, forums, chat rooms, user-generated content and other interactive features that engage readers. a magazine may enter the homepage for its community section, or, if a landing page is not available, submit urls for individual sections that illustrate the strength of the community

best web-only tool
recognizes the best web-only applications that facilitate user-customizable content. a magazine may enter only one tool
