Nearly 450 members of the magazine community celebrated the lifelong contributions of two publishing legends: Tom Ryder, Chairman of the Board of The Readers Digest Association, and Lewis Lapham, National Correspondent and former Editor of Harper's Magazine, at MPA and ASMEs joint Lifetime Achievement Awards ceremony on February 1. The event was held as a luncheon at Gotham Hall in New York.

Lifetime Achievement Awards Honorees: Lewis Lapham (right) was inducted in ASMEs Magazine Editors Hall of Fame, and Tom Ryder received MPAs Henry Johnson Fisher Awards.

Restauranteur Danny Meyer, President of the Union Square Hospitality Group (which includes Union Square Caf, Gramercy Tavern and Eleven Madison Park), offered a heartfelt tribute to friend Tom Ryder.

Tom Ryder was presented the Henry Johnson Fisher prize by Gary Rich (right), Principal of Rich Leadership and former CEO of QSP, a subsidiary of the Readers Digest Association, Inc.
