John Boyd
Chief Operating Officer, Tracking First

John has spent his career in enterprise sales and executive management in web-based tech startups, and was fortunate to be on the enterprise sales team in the early days of the web analytics pioneer Omniture. He’s the author of Selling You, and he speaks frequently on topics related to using information to optimize innovation, decision-making and behavior. He loves coaching youth baseball, riding on and off-road motorcycles, and hiking in the red rocks of southern Utah with his family.

1) How does your company partner with MPA members to help them succeed?
We are a digital technology platform that greatly enhances the accuracy of web analytics digital marketing reporting. This increased accuracy of reporting provides critical insights into the relative effectiveness of different elements of a company's digital marketing, ultimately ensuring that spending on digital marketing is more efficiently deployed.

2) What challenges or uncertainties do you see on the horizon for the industry?
Increasing difficulties being profitable. In today's marketing landscape there is more and more competition for consumer eyeballs, and as people spend more time on digital media, an increasing focus on the digital side of the business. Tracking First provides cost savings in terms of the digital advertising tagging process, and provides much more accurate insights so that companies can put advertising dollars in the right place to drive traffic to their publications. We also provide direct cost savings to our clients through a much more efficient campaign tagging/ tracking process.
3) What had the greatest impact on your business this year?
A three fold increase in our footprint that includes some of MPA's largest publishers. 
4) Is there anything we haven’t asked you today that you wish we had?
Within our field of technology we are really the only application that is expressly focused both on helping our clients save time, and on providing virtually100% accuracy tagging their digital marketing media placements.
