President and CEO
MPA—The Association of Magazine Media

Since joining MPA in late 1999, Nina Link has led her organization's efforts to promote the vitality of the magazine industry to the advertising, marketing and financial communities as well as the press and the public.  She has advanced the interests of magazine media in the areas of government affairs, advertising, consumer marketing and the transformation to digital platforms.

Throughout Ms. Link's tenure, MPA has been a strong advocate of magazine media on the legislative front. MPA has addressed a host of issues centered on the First Amendment, copyright, food and drug advertising restrictions, consumer protection and the environment.  MPA helped contain a number of postal rate increases and played a leadership role in the passage of comprehensive postal reform.

Under Ms. Link's leadership, MPA has played a pivotal role in providing digital resources and training to its membership.  She also oversaw the establishment of the annual "Magazines 24/7" conference, which is considered the premier digital event for the consumer magazine industry.  Ms. Link led the creation of the first e-reading conference for magazines as well as the industry's first awards program honoring excellence on digital platforms.

Other initiatives undertaken by MPA under her direction include: creation of the Magazine Marketing Coalition, which promoted the value of magazines to the advertising community; research studies targeting both advertisers and retailers that prove the effectiveness of magazines; e-business efforts to increase efficiencies and speed up magazine production; and communication to key constituents through a daily e-news round-up and information-rich website that is an essential resource for all magazine media stakeholders.

Prior to joining MPA, Ms. Link served as Group President, Publishing and Interactive for Sesame Workshop, formerly Children's Television Workshop. Ms. Link also headed her own consulting firm, The Link Group, Inc.

Ms. Link currently serves on the Boards of the Ad Council, New York University's Center for Publishing, International Federation of Periodical Press (FIPP) and the New York Society of Association Executives.  She is the recipient of two National Magazine Awards.
