New York, NY (July 26, 2010) — Today, the Affordable Mail Alliance (AMA)—a coalition of 700 businesses that includes Magazine Publishers of America (MPA)—has filed a motion to dismiss a rate hike proposal submitted by the United States Postal Service.
Immediately following is MPA President & CEO Nina Link’s official statement in support of the motion, and below that, a link to the AMA press release announcing the motion to dismiss.
Statement from Nina Link Regarding the Affordable Mail Alliance's Motion to Dismiss USPS' Request for "Exigent" Rate Increase
This is a major step in MPA’s fight against the USPS' unlawful attempt to shatter the price cap. MPA supports all efforts by this unprecedented alliance of the mailing community to continue to litigate aggressively. We hope the Postal Regulatory Commission grants the motion without delay.
