Magazines are increasingly letting go of their content, allowing users to slice, dice, aggregate and even vote based on their individual needs and assessments. Representatives from companies active in this area, including Chris Cunningham, Appssavvy; Tariq Krim, Netvibes; and Alexis Ohanian, Reddit, will discuss the latest technologies and techniques that can help raise the prominence of magazine content on different kinds of social networks. Legal Challenges That Stem from Digital Growth
Trailblazers in the developing field of digital law Bruce Keller, Debevoise and Plimpton LLP; Char Pagar, Manatt; Thomas Rubin, Microsoft; and Cliff Sloan, Slate Magazinewill discuss the busy agenda and enforcement activities of federal agencies like the Federal Trade Commission, and will examine current judicial proceedings involving digital intellectual property. Chris Nolan, MPAs General Counsel, will moderate the session.
Stu Ingis, Venable LLP; Patrick Ross, Copyright Alliance; and Microsoft/DC alumnus Jamie Houton, Elmendorf Strategies, will provide insights and up-to-the-minute intelligence on pending intellectual property legislation, online marketing regulation, net neutrality, and other items on Washington's "digital agenda" for 2008.
