Conference Overview

AMC 2012 will take place in San Francisco, world capital of technology and innovation, the perfect location for an industry poised on the brink of dramatic change.

This year’s conference has been tailored to take advantage of its proximity to some of the most inventive companies of our time, both large and small.

AMC attendees will not only hear top media and technology leaders from the Bay area address issues vital to the magazine media community, they will have the opportunity for exclusive meetings at the global headquarters of two prominent digital companies (more details to come).

AMC 2012 will also examine how our print products are developing stronger and deeper bonds with readers and advertisers.

Panel topics include the changing role of the editor, exploring the ROI of social media, improving the findability of your brand in a ultra-crowded marketplace, and turning your passive readers into active brand loyalists.

AMC 2012 is chaired by Paul Bascobert, President, Bloomberg Businessweek.

You're invited to attend AMC 2012 in San Francisco, the world capital of technology and innovation. For an industry poised on the brink of dramatic change, I can't think of a more fitting location for our annual conference.

The AMC planning committee has created a special program that reflects the spirit of the Bay area and the issues facing magazine media. You'll hear from a stellar lineup of media and technology leaders on the key topics impacting magazine media today - and have the opportunity to meet with some of the area's most prominent digital companies in their headquarters.

Among the highlights we've planned:

Bloomberg Businessweek Chairman Norm Pearlstine will interview Ben Horowitz, co-founder of the renowned venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz (investments have included companies such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, and Pinterest).

Dr. Jeffrey Cole, Research Professor and Director, Center for the Digital Future, USC, provides key insights on how people use technology and how it can change our lives for the better.

Russ Grandinetti, Vice President, Kindle Content, Amazon, will be interviewed by Megan Miller, Program Director, Bonnier Research and Development.

Valley Girls 2.0: The Female CEO Start-Up Roundtable Panel: Tech company CEOs like Alexa Andrzejewski, Founder and CEO, Foodspotting, reveal their start-up challenges and implications for magazine media.

Plus…JUST IN! Monday night cocktail reception at Twitter (featuring more than 140 characters from the magazine industry).

Be a part of the excitement at AMC 2012, where media and technology converge for the year’s most important conference for magazine media.
