Health Magazine Names Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD Contributing Nutrition Editor

New York, NY (December 6, 2012) – Health Editor-in-Chief Ellen Kunes names Cynthia Sass, MPH, RD Contributing Nutrition Editor. In this role, Sass serves as the brand’s resident nutritionist, consults on key editorial franchises, writes a weekly blog and contributes to the brand’s video and social media platforms.  A respected nutrition expert, national television contributor and New York Times bestselling author, Sass joins Health on January 1, 2013.

“Cynthia is a pro at offering relatable nutrition and wellness information to consumers,” said Kunes. “Her fresh perspective and unparalleled experience will be a huge asset as we continue to develop engaging content across the Health brand.”

Sass is the author of The New York Times bestselling book, S.A.S.S! Yourself Slim. She is also co-author of The New York Times bestsellers Flat Belly Diet! and Flat Belly Diet! Cookbook, in addition to The Ultimate Diet Log and Your Diet is Driving Me Crazy. She is currently the sports nutrition consultant for the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays, and maintains a private consultation practice.

Sass was previously a contributing editor at Shape magazine and has been a regular guest on national television programs, including TODAYGood Morning AmericaCBS This Morning, the Rachael Ray Show and The Dr. Oz Show.

Sass graduated with honors from Syracuse University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Nutrition Science. She also earned a Master of Public Health degree in Community and Family Health from the University of South Florida and is one of the first Registered Dietitians to be board certified as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics by theAcademy of Nutrition and Dietetics. She and her husband reside jointly in New York and Los Angeles.
