New York, NY (April 5, 2016)O, The Oprah Magazine today announced that best-selling author Elizabeth Gilbert and award-winning personal finance expert Farnoosh Torabi will become regular columnists for the magazine. The announcement was made by editor-in-chief Lucy Kaylin.  Their first columns will appear in the May issue, on newsstands nationwide April 12.

“As her millions of fans know, Elizabeth has a wonderfully fresh, inspiring voice and outlook—her wit, compassion, and wisdom make her absolutely perfect for the O brand,” said Kaylin.  “And Farnoosh is a dream—she brings a lot of innovation and energy to the important topic of women and money.”

Gilbert, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of Eat Pray Love, Big Magic, and several other internationally acclaimed books of fiction and nonfiction, will be writing an uplifting column about self-expression and living creatively. In addition, Gilbert will contribute an online video narrative in tandem with her monthly feature.

"I'm so thrilled to be welcomed into the O family — and it does feel like family, after all these years of working together on various projects,” said Gilbert. “To be invited onto the team as a columnist, though, is a great joy. I'm looking forward to being a voice of creative encouragement for O's readers, who have such rapacious appetites for life, for transformation, for joy. It feels like home already."

Torabi will be the new financial columnist for the magazine, helping readers learn to take control of their finances so they can live their richest, most satisfying lives. In her first column for the magazine, Torabi shares her top financial wishes for readers, full of inspiration and wisdom.

“When the editors asked if I’d like to join as a columnist, I nearly fell off my chair,” said Torabi.  “I am deeply honored to join Lucy and her incredibly talented team; I can’t wait to engage with O’s smart, vibrant and aspiring audience. I’m committed to sharing fresh, empowering and I dare say fun financial strategies for as long as they’ll let me!”
