ELLE.COM AND YOUTUBE STARS TAKE OVER YOUTUBE SPACE NEW YORK TO CELEBRATE NEW YORK FASHION WEEK AND "FASHION FOR ALL"

ELLE.com teams up with YouTube and top YouTube stars on new "Fashion for All" content series promoting inclusivity in fashion

ELLE.com and YouTube Space NY to host exclusive New York Fashion Week panel on diversity and inclusivity featuring designer Christian Siriano, actress Keke Palmer, models Precious Lee, Candice Huffine and Andreja Pejić, and Planned Parenthood director of constituency communications Alencia Johnson

NEW YORK, NY (September 12, 2017) - Today, ELLE.com and YouTube announced a partnership to promote inclusivity in fashion during New York Fashion Week. An ELLE.com takeover of studios at YouTube Space New York anchors this new collaboration, with ELLE.com bringing together a diverse group of top YouTube creators to produce a new content series, and hosting a livestreamed panel with fashion industry insiders.

The creators - including Keke Palmer, Cassandra Bankson, Nikita Dragun, Ari Fitz, Loey Lane, and Iskra Lawrence - have more than 3.8 million subscribers combined and will be collaborating with ELLE.com on a series of videos celebrating "Fashion for All." The videos, which are being filmed entirely at YouTube Space New York this week, will share these beauty stars' unique perspectives on the theme.

"I love YouTube because it allows me to communicate in so many ways with my fans," says Palmer. "From personal messages to skits to ideas that I'm thinking of turning into long form, it's a way for them to know my work isn't just pulled out from thin air, but that it's coming from a conversation that we are continuously having."

"At YouTube, giving people the freedom to belong is one of our core values. We're thrilled to collaborate with ELLE.com on promoting inclusivity during this year's New York Fashion Week, and we hope their YouTube Space New York takeover will further empower the YouTube role models who already inspire diverse fashion communities around the world," says Adam Relis, Head of YouTube Space New York.

ELLE.com kicks off the YouTube collaboration today with a launch video featuring model Precious Lee, who opens up about what it's like to be a plus-size black model in the fashion industry, and takes ELLE.com fashion director Nikki Ogunnaike on a day of casting calls for New York Fashion Week shows - including for designer Christian Siriano, who is notably dedicated to dressing women of all sizes. Watch the video on ELLE.com's YouTube channel here.

"While the fashion industry is slowly opening up to a more diverse range of body types and ethnicities, there is still a long way to go," says Lee. "I'm so glad that ELLE.com and YouTube are giving me a platform to speak openly and honestly about this problem and help bring more awareness to this issue."

"At ELLE.com, spreading the message of inclusivity is a huge focus," says Ogunnaike. "We're excited to partner with YouTube, influential creators, and groundbreaking fashion insiders to amplify that message in a unique, empowering and impactful way."

Additional Fashion for All videos will be uploaded on ELLE.com's and participating creators' YouTube channels throughout the week of Sept. 18.

ELLE.com is also hosting a Fashion for All panel this evening in the YouTube Space to celebrate the game-changers disrupting the fashion industry. Hosted by Ogunnaike, and featuring Siriano, Lee, Palmer, model Candice Huffine, model and transgender advocate Andreja Pejić, and Planned Parenthood Director of Constituency Communications Alencia Johnson, the intimate conversation will open a dialogue on why fashion needs to be more representative of all races, sizes, and gender identities.

The 45-minute discussion will be livestreamed on ELLE.com's YouTube channel beginning at 6:30 p.m. EST.
