BOSTON (June 15, 2016) – Forbes announced today the first round of speakers for Forbes’ third Under 30 Summit, including Model and Author Chrissy Teigen; Founder of Nasty Gal Sophia Amoruso; CEO and Co-Founder of Rent the Runway Jennifer Hyman; Founder of Grooveshark Sam Tarantino; Founder of Outdoor Voices Tyler Haney; Co-Founder of Scholly Christopher Gray; CEO of Ritual Katerina Markov Schneider; CEO and Co-Founder of Shots John Shahidi; and CRV Partner Annie Kadavy.

Forbes Under 30 Summit mentors speaking at the event include Founder and CEO of Breyer Capital Jim Breyer; Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker; Boston Mayor Marty Walsh; Global Head of Real Estate and a member of the Board of Directors of Blackstone Group Jonathan Gray; Sex Therapist and Author Dr. Ruth; and Creator & Executive Director of the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival and NYC Wine & Food Festival, Lee Schrager. The Forbes Under 30 Summit will take place October 16-19, 2016, and will be held at different venues all over Boston, including Faneuil Hall and the campuses of Harvard Business School, Northeastern University and Berklee College of Music. The Summit will comprise five interconnected content hubs including a full agenda of panels, TED-style presentations and keynotes, live demos and conversations with key speakers.  They include: 

  • Under 30 VIP - This content hub is invitation-only and open exclusively to honorees from the Forbes 30 Under 30 lists, as well as attendees with an all-access pass.
  • Under 30 Tech - This content hub will target those interested in consumer and enterprise technology, healthcare, biotech and energy, and may feature speakers such as Shots App Founder John Shahidi, Ritual’s Katerina Markov Schneider, and Rent the Runway’s Jennifer Hyman. In addition, Dr. Ruth will sit down with pairs of startup cofounders to discuss the best strategies for working together.
  • Under 30 Create - This event will attract those interested in media, entertainment, music, marketing and sports.  Speakers may include Model and Author Chrissy Teigen, Food Festival Founder Lee Schrager, GrooveShark’s Sam Tarantino, Nasty Gal’s Sophia Amoruso and Outdoor Voices’ Tyler Haney.
  • Under 30 Impact – This event will gather those interested in law, politics/policy, education and social entrepreneurship and may showcase speakers such as Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and Scholly’s Christopher Gray.
  • Under 30 Capital - Geared for those interested in venture capital, private equity, banking, trading and investing, this event may include speakers such Real Estate Pioneer Jonathan Gray, CRV Partner Annie Kadavy and Venture Capitalist Jim Breyer.

Four content hubs – Under 30 Tech, Under 30 Create, Under 30 Impact and Under 30 Capital – will be open to any entrepreneur or student from around the world.

There are two options to buy tickets: 

  • Individual passes are available for sale for each of these content hubs:  Under 30 Tech, Under 30 Create, Under 30 Impact and Under 30 Capital. The early-bird rate until July 4 is $395 per individual pass.
  • Invitation-only all-access passes are also for sale, offering attendees the opportunity to participate in any of the content hubs at any time, as well as a number of additional VIP experiences. Attendees must apply and be accepted for the all-access pass option. The early-bird rate until July 4 is $995.

In addition, Forbes will create an Under 30 Village in City Hall Plaza, which will serve as a nucleus for participants from all the interconnected Forbes Under 30 content hubs to meet, network, eat, drink and watch presentations and performances.  It will feature an Innovation Showcase for startups, a Recruitment Fair with scores of employers, new product demonstrations such as breakthroughs in virtual reality and self-driving cars, and the Under 30 Hackathon.

The summit will kick off on Sunday, October 16, with an Under 30 Music Festival, in partnership with Global Citizen, featuring leading musical artists. Acts at previous Forbes Under 30 summits have included Afrojack, Wiz Khalifa and A$AP Rocky. The music festival will be open to all attendees and the public, with free tickets given to anyone who take steps to end extreme poverty.

On Monday, October 17, and Tuesday, October 18, Forbes will host five concurrent content hubs:  Under 30 Tech, Under 30 Create, Under 30 Impact, Under 30 Capital and Under 30 VIP.

On October 18, the Under 30 VIP content hub will include an Under 30 Food Festival with some of America’s most notable young chefs, and a $1 million-dollar global social entrepreneurship competition for young entrepreneurs. 

On the final day, October 19, Forbes will hold a Boston-wide Service Day devoted to giving back to the City of Boston. Hundreds of honorees from Forbes’ 30 Under 30 lists will be dispatched to Boston middle and high schools to mentor and address assemblies of students only a few years younger than these super-achievers.
