GQ TO LAUNCH THE GQ57

 

GQ CREATES AN EXCLUSIVE INSIDER PROGRAM THAT WILL ENLIST CONSUMER TALENT FOR MARKETING INITIATIVES

 

New York, NY, August 8, 2014GQ announces the launch of the GQ57, a first-of-its-kind network of elite members from GQ’s larger online community, GQ Insider. The 57 is a collection of modern gentlemen that include the Social E-lite (bloggers and influencers) and IntelliGents (entrepreneurs, philanthropists, and more). A nod to GQ’s founding year in 1957, the 57 represent GQ’s best consumers and most passionate audience and present a wide array of opportunities for GQ advertising partners, ranging from social broadcasting to creating custom content.

 

“The GQ57 will connect brands with powerful consumer voices in new and unprecedented ways,” said Chris Mitchell, GQ vice president and publisher. “GQ has essentially taken on the role of a talent agency by cultivating an exclusive group of consumer consultants for marketing initiatives that we make available to our top clients.”

 

This fall, GQ57 IntelliGents will champion fashion retailer EXPRESS, Inc. in the second iteration of the exclusive-to-GQ Back to Business campaign. Back to Business 2.0 will feature four GQ57 IntelliGents who will help educate the GQ audience on how to dress for success through a custom advertising program in GQ’s September issue. The first execution appeared in this year’s April issue and helped inspire the launch of the GQ57. The campaign profiled GQ Insider Josh Kaplan and his business partners, Justin Belmont and Marc Lombardo, Columbia MBA graduates and co-founders of perk.la, a members-only student discount website. The alignment proved to be a successful stepping-stone for perk.la as they secured a spot in the Columbia Startup Lab.
