Changes to Meet the Needs of Mobile and Social Media Audience Growth

LOS ANGELES, Calif., June 14, 2015 – GrindTV, the world’s largest adventure sports and outdoor lifestyle website, is pleased to announce the appointment of several key new staff members, an updated logo and a website redesign to address the changing media climate driven by growth in the mobile and social media audience.

The media property, under the umbrella of TEN: The Enthusiast Network, has named a dynamic and experienced crew to spearhead its ambitious efforts including: Aaron Carrera as General Manager, Kim Stavers as Editor, Lynn Lieu as Managing Editor and Amanda Reid as Social Media and Web Producer.

“GrindTV continues to be a destination attracting millions of fans each month,” says Greg Morrow, SVP Digital, Sports & Entertainment for TEN. “And with the user-friendly redesign, leadership of Aaron, and team additions, GrindTV is poised for continued success and growth in 2015 and beyond."

Newly appointed GrindTV General Manager Aaron Carrera helped handpick the team.

“Our new hires have a deep understanding of today’s media landscape and the role analytics plays in creating new content,” says Carrera. “In their short time at GrindTV, when comparing year-over-year numbers, our social traffic is up 61 percent and our organic search traffic is up 148 percent.”

As the gateway to adventure sports and outdoor lifestyle, and the official adventure sports content provider for Yahoo, GrindTV is acknowledging today’s fast media landscape by creating new strategies that align with social media and mobile trends. The goal of the website redesign is to make it mobile friendly and encourage users to discover new and relevant content at ease. The new category format is already increasing user engagement and internal traffic referrals. The logo redesign is to better represent the brand’s identity and encompass all of its adventure content.

“With a higher number of our audience using mobile devices to read our content and social media to discover our content, we wanted a website that made it easier for users to engage with GrindTV,” said newly appointed GrindTV General Manager Aaron Carrera. “We’re thinking mobile first, and we believe our redesign, combined with our new editorial strategies, are proving this true.”
