Peter Kiefer Named Real Estate and City Editor; Jeremy Barr Hired as Media and Politics Writer,

LOS ANGELES – June 15, 2017 – The Hollywood Reporter, the entertainment industry's flagship media brand, announced today that it has made two new additions to its award-winning roster of reporters and editors. Peter Kiefer will serve as Real Estate and City Editor based in Los Angeles and Jeremy Barr will serve as Media and Politics Writer based in New York. Both begin their new roles on June 15th, with Kiefer reporting to Deputy Editorial Director, Alison Brower, and Barr reporting to Television Editor, Lacey Rose.

Kiefer most recently served as a Contributor to The Hollywood Reporter, covering the Los Angeles real estate scene and giving readers an insider’s look at luxury estates on the market. Previously, Kiefer worked as a writer for The New York Times Rome bureau, reported for The New York Sun, and founded the Los Angeles based digital publication L.A. Currents.

Barr most recently served as Media Reporter at Advertising Age, where he wrote about the business of media; with a focus on advertising trends as traditional and digital media companies embraced new business models and revenue streams. He also previously served as Associate Editor at Politico Media, where he reported on a wide range of legacy and digital media companies.

The staff additions coincide with The Hollywood Reporter’s recent nomination for a National Magazine Award. Additionally, The Hollywood Reporter achieved a record for online traffic in May with 21.5 million global uniques, according to comScore.
