THR and Morning Consult Will Join Forces to Shape Conversations about the Hottest Issues and Industry Trends in Hollywood


LOS ANGELES—October 10, 2018 The Hollywood Reporter has joined forces with Morning Consult, a technology company revolutionizing ways to collect, organize, and share survey research data, THR announced today. Morning Consult and THR’s editorial staff will create weekly polls, with the goal of shaping crucial conversations about the hottest topics and industry trends facing Hollywood today. The partnership was announced on Tuesday by Matthew Belloni, Editorial Director of The Hollywood Reporter.

“Now more than ever, it’s important for THR readers to have a firm grasp on what the public is thinking about divisive topics,” Belloni said. “It also helps THR’s editorial team to know what various segments of the population are thinking about the ‘hot topic’ issues and people we cover. The weekly polls, which are conducted online among American adults 18-plus, will debut in The Hollywood Reporter’s October 10 issue. Morning Consult utilizes multiple online survey panel providers to garner results; the first poll findings take a detailed look at whether Hollywood stars are effectively influencing Americans on key political and social issues ahead of this November's midterm elections.

All future poll topics will be determined by The Hollywood Reporter’s editorial staff, led by News Director Erik Hayden. Results will appear in print Hollywood Reporter magazine as well as online on
