NEW YORK, N.Y. (October 31, 2014) – Meredith Corporation (NYSE: MDP;, the nation’s leading media and marketing company serving more than 100 million American women, announced today that Lindsay Funston has been named Nutrition Editor for Fitness magazine. Funston will report to Fitness Executive Editor Pam O’Brien, effective immediately.


Funston most recently served as a Senior Associate Editor for O, The Oprah Magazine where she was responsible for editing food features, working with recipe developers, reporting on food news, and editing the “Live Your Best Life” section. Previously, Funston was an Associate Editor at Whole Living, where she wrote and edited all food content for the magazine, website, blog and digital edition. In addition, she oversaw Whole Living's largest franchise, the annual “Action Plan,” and served as editorial director of the highly popular Whole Living Smoothies app.

Funston began her career at Real Simple, reporting on and writing about food for the magazine, website, and blog, including the monthly “Road Test” and “Fresh Pick” columns, and product roundups for’s Daily Finds.


Funston earned a Bachelor of Arts in Magazine Journalism from the University of Oregon and will be based in Meredith’s New York offices at 805 Third Avenue.
