NEWYORKER.COM POSTS A RECORD-SETTING MONTH IN JULY, ATTRACTING THE MOST MONTHLY UNIQUE VISITORS EVER

(New York, N.Y. – August 4, 2015)—The New Yorker’s Web site, newyorker.com, posted a record month in July with 14.6 million unique visitors, up 32 percent compared to the same month a year ago. Average time spent on the site also hit an all-time high. Video views, meanwhile, were up 320 percent compared to July 2014.

Year to date, newyorker.com is up 27 percent among unique visitors and 294 percent among video views.

The month’s most-popular stories include Kathryn Schulz’s article on the earthquake that will devastate the Pacific Northwest; Ryan Lizza’s interview with John McCain in which the Senator accused Donald Trump of “firing up the crazies” with his anti-immigration rhetoric, comments that touched off a new round infighting in the G.O.P.; and Maria Konnikova’s three-part series on the science of sleep.
