NEW YORK (April 3, 2017) — The Players’ Tribune (TPT) today announced the renewal of a content partnership with Tyson Foods, Inc. TPT will produce a series of co-branded videos, written articles and photos featuring MLB legend David Ortiz and 2016 World Series champion Anthony Rizzo.

As part of the partnership, The Players’ Tribune will debut a series of three videos in which Ortiz and Rizzo share their thoughts about baseball and how the game has shaped their lives. In-depth conversations will drive each episode, and the two stars will share insights into their major league experiences with details that only a professional athlete can provide. Ortiz and Rizzo will also detail their individual journeys in baseball with intimate, revealing first-person articles. For the second straight year, Tyson Foods will be supporting the partnership with a digital marketing experience called Legends at the Grill.

“Building off the success and momentum of last year, we’re excited to continue our partnership with Tyson Foods, and to enhance their Legends at the Grill promotion with captivating content from David Ortiz and Anthony Rizzo,” says Jaymee Messler, president of The Players’ Tribune. “This program offers Tyson Foods the opportunity to tap into our community of premier athletes to produce original and entertaining multimedia content that aligns with our premium content sensibilities, and which will engage both our audience and their consumers.”

“I’m excited for year two of our partnership,” said Wendyjean Bennett, senior director of shopper marketing at Tyson Foods. “This year our Legends at the Grill shopper marketing program features David Ortiz and Anthony Rizzo, two players who know what to do at the plate and behind the grill. They’ll spend the season addressing grilling myths featuring our lineup of great grilling products, like how to flip Hillshire Farm® smoked sausage, where to place Ball Park® hot dogs and how to grill Wright® Brand bacon. Between grill sessions, the guys will talk baseball from the heart. It’s guaranteed to be another grilling season to remember.”

The partnership debuts today on The Players’ Tribune with Anthony Rizzo’s written article, “ History, Literally.” To access grilling tips and athlete recipes throughout the summer visit
