NEW YORK — September 6, 2017 — The Players’ Tribune (TPT) announced today a first-of-its-kind content series, OUT OF CONTEXT, starring Seattle Seahawks cornerback and TPT contributor, Richard Sherman. OUT OFCONTEXT will feature first-person video narratives self-recorded by Sherman exclusively using the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note8. The series will launch on September 7 and run weekly throughout the duration of the 2017–18 NFL regular season on TPT and on Sherman’s social channels.

Sherman will serve as the Executive Producer of the series, which will enable him to delve deeply into a variety of topics, from football to current events to his hobbies, interests, and business ventures. Sherman’s home and car have been equipped with the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note8 devices, giving him the ability to capture and share his thoughts at a moment’s notice without the assistance of writers, producers or editors.

“The media landscape has shifted in recent years, and words being misconstrued or twisted into sensationalized headlines has become commonplace,” says Sherman. “This new series will allow me to be transparent, organic, and to really control my own message.
