REDBOOK ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF FIRST-EVER REAL WOMEN STYLE AWARDS

Nationwide Search Presented by JCPenney to Celebrate Best-Dressed Women throughout the U.S.

NEW YORK  (August 12, 2014) -- Redbook today announces the winners of the first-ever Real Women Style Awards, a nationwide search to celebrate stylish women with real bodies and real budgets, presented in partnership with JCPenney.  The 10 winners who were selected will be featured in the September 2014 issue of Redbook magazine, on newsstands nationwide August 12.

“Everybody loves the drama of a best-dressed list, but let's be honest: while it's fun to see celebrities and royalty done up in designer gowns and jaw-dropping jewels, we all know that those women have teams of stylists and personal shoppers to keep them looking great,” said Meredith Rollins, Redbook’s editor in chief.  “We were thrilled to partner with JCPenney to showcase America’s true style stars - the real women who put together amazing outfits that fit their busy lives.”

To enter, Redbook readers were encouraged to upload at least three photos showcasing their best looks to redbookmag.com.  More than 3,000 photo submissions were received and 65,347 online votes were cast to decide the top 25 finalists.  A panel of judges including celebrity/designer Jessica Simpson, designer Lela Rose, celebrity stylists Brad Goreski and June Ambrose, Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant, style bloggers Joanna Hawley (of Jojotastic) and Tanesha Awasthi (of GirlWithCurves), helped Redbook editors choose the final 10 winners.

“For more than a century, we’ve been committed to offering sizes, brands, styles and prices that fit the real life needs of our customer. Having the right fit is emotionally powerful and gives our customers the confidence they seek to put their best foot forward,” said Deb Berman, senior vice president of marketing at JCPenney. “We love the diversity of people we fit, which is why we couldn’t be more proud to partner with Redbook on the Real Women Style Awards and celebrate the style of real women across the country.”

The winners of Redbook’s first annual Real Women Style Awards are:
