SUBHA V. BARRY PROMOTED, PRESIDENT WORKING MOTHER MEDIA

New York, NY, June 13, 2018—Subha V. Barry has been promoted to President, Working Mother Media (WMM) it was announced today by Eric Zinczenko, CEO, Bonnier Corp. She has been the SVP, Managing Director since January, 2015.

Working Mother Media, a division of Bonnier Corp., includes Working Mother magazine, workingmother.com, the Working Mother Research Institute, the National Association for Female Executives and Diversity Best Practices. It hosts over 20 events and conferences a year. Working Mother Media’s mission is to serve as a champion of culture change by promoting workforce best practices in diversity and inclusion and work life integration, and advancing and supporting working women and working mothers.

“Working Mother is now a portfolio of well diversified assets including conferences, events, custom research, a membership arm, the magazine and a strong digital site with record traffic and growth,” Zinczenko said. “I look forward to collaborating further with Subha to continue the growth of the Working Mother mission.”

Barry joined Bonnier from SV Barry Consulting, which she launched in 2011. She was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs, where she taught gender policy for eight years. Previously, Barry was the Chief Diversity Officer at Freddie Mac and Merrill Lynch. She began her career at Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor before becoming a branch manager and creating a multicultural business development group that helped establish Merrill Lynch as the preeminent wealth management firm among diverse and multicultural markets.

Barry serves on the Boards of Rutgers University, Rice University’s Graduate School of Business and Princeton Hospital where she is Vice-Chair. She is the past Chair and now a member of the Rutgers Cancer Institute’s Director’s Advisory Council.

A native of India, Barry holds a B.A. in Accounting, Economics and Mathematics from the University of Mumbai, and an M.B.A. and M.S. in Accounting from Rice University. She and her husband have two children and live in New Hope, Pennsylvania.
