RICHARD SCARRY’S BEST WORD BOOK EVER Celebrates 50 Years in Print

NEW YORK (June 4, 2013)– In celebration of legendary children’s author and illustrator Richard Scarry‘s birthday on June 5, the June/July issue of FamilyFun – on newsstands the same day – has Scarry’s beloved Goldbug character hidden throughout the magazine. Goldbug, a classic favorite of kids, is best known for hiding himself in various vehicles and settings in Scarry’s Busytown. Children and parents can hunt for Goldbug together on various pages of the latest issue, which includes such stories as “Potluck Pleasers: Irresistible Summer Dishes,” and “Let’s Get Outdoors,” featuring dozens of tips, strategies, and activities for rediscovering the joys of nature. In the tablet edition, Goldbug plays a special version of hide-and-seek: when you find and tap him, he disappears and reappears in his next hiding spot.
