Q&A with Women's Health Publisher Laura Frerer-Schmidt
Rodale's Women's Health was part of the club of magazines that enjoyed a September issue bump. PIB paging for the month is up 48 percent compared to September 2012, and overall the magazine is up 32 percent in ad pages so far this year.
Hearst Names New Top Digital Editors
Amy O'Dell of BuzzFeed's Shift is named editor of Cosmopolitan.com, and Leah Chernikoff of Fashionista, is named editor of Elle.com. The magazine publisher also announced that Annie Fox of Spin Media is the director of programming for Hearst Digital.

Surfer magazine, chronicling the sport of surfing since 1960, takes a look at this season's spate of shark attacks over the course of the past month in Hawaii. The Center for Shark Research has recorded five attacks within the island regions, the most recent occurring this past Sunday afternoon when a 16-year-old male was attacked. This latest incident brought the year’s total to eight attacks.
