Smithsonian magazine's Museum Day Live! Celebrates Taiwanese Culture at Grand Central Station

SMITHSONIAN MAGAZINE’S MUSEUM DAY LIVE! CELEBRATES TAIWANESE CULTURE AT VANDERBILT HALL IN

GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL

WHAT: Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day Live! and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau will celebrate Taiwanese culture with an event in Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Terminal from 11am-2pm on Saturday, September 28th. The event will feature the following acts on stage and include remarks from the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office:

-Food demonstration from Chef Chang of Shin Yeh Taiwanese Restaurant
-Performance from Third Prince, a traditional dance troupe
-Performance from Taiwanese Dilobo
-Taiwanese fashion show showcasing two designers
-Taiwanese Aboriginal dance performance

 Vendors and event partners will be present, offering traditional Taiwanese craft demonstrations as well as food sampling. Food demonstrations and sampling include:

-Calligraphy and fan painting
-Taiwanese oolong tea sampling
-Bubble tea sampling
-Taiwanese snack specialties  

Vendors on hand include:

-Taiwan Tourism Board
-National Palace Museum, an antique museum hosting one of the largest Chinese artifacts in the world
-China Airlines
-EVA Airways
