Emily Passer Joins Quartz As Director of Communications


New York, NY; December 10, 2013 – Emily Passer has been named Communications Director of Quartz, Atlantic Media's global business digital publication. Quartz Editor-in-Chief Kevin Delaney and Publisher Jay Lauf announced today.

Based in New York City and reporting to Emily Lenzner, Atlantic Media Vice President, Global Communications, Passer will oversee all media relations and public relations for Quartz and its staff and events.

Passer comes to Quartz from the Financial Times, where she coordinated content promotion, media relations and internal communications initiatives.

"Emily brings with her an impressive understanding of the business media arena as well as Quartz's journalistic mission and business model," said Lauf.  "She has demonstrated great energy, ideas and creativity, which will no doubt make her an exceptional addition to our growing team."

Prior to her work at the FT, Passer was with Fleishman-Hillard's Marketing-Communications group in New York. Along with this experience, Passer brings a background in social media and strong knowledge of evolving digital platforms. Passer has an undergraduate degree in international relations from Columbia University.
