TIME Unpacks the Social Strategy Behind New FIRSTS Project
TIME recently rolled out FIRSTS, an impressive multimedia project highlighting 46 women who’ve broken barriers across various fields. The project includes an interactive site, short films, candid interviews, portraits, a social media campaign and, later this month, a hardcover book, featuring female athletes, scientists, lawmakers, entertainers and entrepreneurs who have led their fields and broken ceilings.

Publishers Continue to See Monetization Problems with Apple News
In January, after all but giving up on selling ads itself, the tech giant started having NBCUniversal sell ads in Apple News, Apple’s news aggregation app. Nine months later, the deal has borne little fruit, according to publishers and sources close to them. Some of the largest publishers on Apple News haven’t seen any incremental revenue and monetization from the partnership, according to several publishers and vendors that work closely with them.

“The MPA’s IMAG community prides itself on sharing and learning from one another,” said Andy Clurman, President and CEO of Active Interest Media and Chair of the IMAG Financial Benchmarking Study. “As a board, we thought a benchmarking study would be the ideal way to provide member companies with key metrics to better understand how their performance compares to similar companies.” The survey was conducted in the last quarter of 2016 by Mazars USA, a global accounting firm. Only open to members of the IMAG community, participants received two sets of detailed results: one for all respondents and one broken down by revenue tier.
