How Time Inc. Plans to Grow Its Rebranded Streaming Video Play PeopleTV
Launched last September as the People/Entertainment Weekly Network — PEN for short — PeopleTV is an ad-supported video streaming channel that offers more than 300 hours of video content produced by Time Inc.’s People and Entertainment Weekly magazines as well as a few outside production partners.
Time Inc. Kicks Off the Week with Deals
The first one is with Global Eagle Entertainment which calls for Global Eagle to distribute Time Inc’s programming to airline, cruise ship and maritime audiences via the newly created brand “TIME Flies.” The second deal announced today is with mega beer brand Coors Light. Time Inc and Coors Light are buddying up on a new college football VR project.

The New Republic Names J.J. Gould As Editor
New Republic has appointed J.J. Gould, former editor of The Atlantic’s site, as its new editor. Gould succeeds Eric Bates, who joined the magazine in April 2016, but stepped down recently. Bates will remain at New Republic as editor-at-large.

“The MPA’s IMAG community prides itself on sharing and learning from one another,” said Andy Clurman, President and CEO of Active Interest Media and Chair of the IMAG Financial Benchmarking Study. “As a board, we thought a benchmarking study would be the ideal way to provide member companies with key metrics to better understand how their performance compares to similar companies.” The survey was conducted in the last quarter of 2016 by Mazars USA, a global accounting firm. Only open to members of the IMAG community, participants received two sets of detailed results: one for all respondents and one broken down by revenue tier.
