Hearst Is Super Bullish on Print and They Want the World to Know
Ben Moritz reports " This dedication to print isn’t just within the magazines group. Hearst Corp on a whole is bullish on print and has been diving deeper into it with acquisitions like The Pioneer Group which is a network of local newspapers in Michigan. The company also acquired the Connecticut print and digital assets of 21st Century Media Newspaper, LLC back in June. So this is no show. Hearst loves print and they are investing in it heavily."

For the second consecutive September, top lifestyle magazine publisher and TV station owner Meredith Corporation staged an Upfront-style event for the advertising community. At the first BrandFront in 2016, the spotlight was on a set of new community outreach campaigns involving their portfolio of magazines and Web sites. At version 2.0 this past Tuesday, the message was all about consumer empowerment via the company’s print, online and social media covering a variety of lifestyle content.

“The MPA’s IMAG community prides itself on sharing and learning from one another,” said Andy Clurman, President and CEO of Active Interest Media and Chair of the IMAG Financial Benchmarking Study. “As a board, we thought a benchmarking study would be the ideal way to provide member companies with key metrics to better understand how their performance compares to similar companies.” The survey was conducted in the last quarter of 2016 by Mazars USA, a global accounting firm. Only open to members of the IMAG community, participants received two sets of detailed results: one for all respondents and one broken down by revenue tier.
