Jon Dorn wears multiple hats at AIM. As Chief Innovation Officer, he leads the company’s central digital, video, marketing services, and online education efforts, guiding the Catapult Creative Labs, AIM Studios, and AIM U teams. As the President of the Active Living Group, Dorn oversees AIM’s outdoor, mountain, and healthy living brands, including Yoga Journal, SKI, Backpacker, Clean Eating, Climbing, SNEWS, Better Nutrition, and National Park Trips. He’s previously served as AIM’s editorial director, head of product development, and digital SVP. Prior to that, as the longtime editor-in-chief of Backpacker, he led the brand to five National Magazine Awards, including General Excellence for both print and digital. Dorn lives and plays in Boulder, Colorado, with his wife, two daughters, and five bikes. He serves as president of the American Society of Magazine Editors and as a board member of IMAG, and he volunteers with Big City Mountaineers and Attention Homes, Colorado-based nonprofits providing resources for at-risk teens.
