TEEN VOGUE ADDS SPEAKERS TO #TURNUP SUMMIT LINEUP
Rosario Dawson, Munroe Bergdorf, and Emma González to Join NYC Event June 1-3 at The New School
Teen Vogue has announced additional speakers and details of the upcoming Teen Vogue Summit: #TurnUp, taking place June 1-3 at The New School in New York City. Through a series of motivating keynotes, hands-on workshops, mentor sessions, and action opportunities, attendees will have the opportunity to hear from and meet some of today’s most inspiring leaders and influencers, while connecting with like-minded game changers. Also on the agenda: time to meditate, practice self-care, and watch empowering performances.
Newly added to the lineup:
- Rosario Dawson, actress and cofounder of Voto Latino, in conversation with Dolores Huerta of the Dolores Huerta Foundation;
- #NeverAgain activists Emma González, Jaclyn Corin, and Sarah Chadwick will speak alongside young gun control activists from Ferguson, Sandy Hook, and Chicago who were featured in Teen Vogue’s interactive cover dedicated to the new face of the gun control movement;
- Model and activist Munroe Bergdorf will join First Lady of NYC Chirlane McCray for a conversation on mental health;
Also joining the #TurnUp Summit: Model and activist Halima Aden; gun control activist and politician Gabrielle Giffords; founder and editor-in-chief of MuslimGirl.com, Amani Al-Khatahtbeh; model and trans activist Hunter Schafer; FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel; activist DeRay Mckesson; former chief speechwriter for Michelle Obama, Sarah Hurwitz; BuzzFeed News senior reporter Katie Notopoulos; Let America Vote president Jason Kander; Congressional candidate from Texas’s 23rd District Gina Ortiz Jones; and NYC Youth Poet Laureate William Lohier, who will perform his poem "Voting in a Black Hole."
Previously announced speakers include: former president of Planned Parenthood Cecile Richards, former vice president Al Gore, Jessica Williams, Danica Roem, Hasan Minhaj, Cameron Russell, Diane Guerrero, Francia Raisa, Betsy Reed, and 12-year-old climate-change activist Haven Coleman.
Inaugural Teen Vogue Summit partners returning to support the #TurnUp mission include Facebook Messenger, PBteen, and TOMS; and Freehand New York is newly on board. 23 Stories, Condé Nast’s in-house experiential agency, will again produce the event.

Attendees will have the option to experience one or all three days of Summit programming: Friday ($299), Saturday Summit ($399), or All-Access: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ($499).
