-MRI Fall 2019 study shows OUTSIDE magazine with a whopping 41% increase

Santa Fe, NM (December 16, 2019) –  OUTSIDE, America’s dominant active lifestyle brand, reports a 41% growth rate in its total print audience, which is the third highest increase, according to MRI’s Fall 2019 study. Outside Magazine now reaches over 3.4 million active readers with every issue. The study shows the Outside print audience as young and affluent with a median age of 42 years and a median household income of approximately $91,000 – a highly coveted demographic for advertisers.

The exponential increase in the magazine’s audience reflects OUTSIDE’s efforts to reach communities in the outdoor industry that have historically been ignored, with the majority of the most recent growth from female readers. Additionally, the median age of readers is younger than the competitive set, showing that the younger demographic is embracing the print platform as well as Outside’s digital channels.

In addition to its print, online, television, podcast, film studio, and other platforms, the brand has expanded into the event space with the second year of the Outside Experience consumer show scheduled for May 16-17, 2020 in Chicago. In addition, Outside recently added Outside France to its international lineup.
