NEW YORK/LONDON - September 10, 2019— Melinda Stevens, editor-in-chief of Condé Nast Traveler U.S. and U.K. is building her transatlantic team with the appointment of Jesse Ashlock as Editor, U.S. Based in New York, Ashlock will be Melinda’s editorial deputy, charged with content creation, strategy and partnerships across all platforms in the U.S. He will report to Stevens, who oversees all content across the U.S. and U.K. editions of Traveler, with teams at One World Trade Center in New York and Vogue House in London.

The U.S. and U.K. teams unified in August 2018 to strengthen the competitive position of the brand in both markets. The transatlantic brand integrates editorial and commercial capabilities to accelerate new business initiatives across print, digital and events, and provides readers with more insider intel, luxury lifestyle and in-depth reporting.

Ashlock joins Traveler from his position as executive editor at Travel + Leisure where he had been for the last five years. Prior to this, he served as online director at T Magazine, The New York Times Style Magazine and deputy editor at Details.

“I am delighted that Jesse is joining Traveler,” said Stevens. “He’s an accomplished editor who is well known and respected within the industry. A considered and thoughtful journalist with a very interesting background across print and digital, I look forward to working with him as Traveler continues to be the most discerning travel brand in the marketplace.”

"I am thrilled to join Traveler, the distinguished global travel title, at this exciting time in its history," said Ashlock. "Having worked across travel, fashion and lifestyle, I'm eager to bring my perspective to market and work closely with the team. I look forward to collaborating with Melinda and to rejoining the community of editors at Condé Nast."

Ashlock will begin on September 23, 2019.
