NEW YORK, September 4, 2019Town & Country announced today Dania Ortiz has been named fashion & accessories director and Jill Newman has been named contributing editor, jewelry and Watches. The announcement was made by Town & Country editor-in-chief Stellene Volandes.

“I have known both Dania and Jill for many years and could not be more excited to have them join Town & Country,” said Stellene Volandes. “They both bring global and true luxury experience and an understanding of the Town & Country mission. And they both love and believe in what they do. I’m proud to have them join our exceptional group of editors and contributors.”

As fashion & accessories director, Ortiz will be responsible for expanding Town & Country’s fashion and accessories footprint across multiple platforms and continuing to evolve T&C’s authoritative point of view on quality and taste. She will oversee the magazine’s fashion and accessories shoots and front of book shopping pages. Ortiz replaces Will Kahn who remains a contributing editor to the magazine.

Ortiz joins Town & Country most recently as a contributing editor to VOGUE Mexico. In 2013 she was named fashion director at Michael Kors where she styled all seasonal advertising campaigns, social media videos, website landing pages and editorial content. She has also held various editorial positions such as fashion director at SELF, market and accessories director at Interview and senior market editor of Marie Claire and W.

Jill Newman’s first column will be introduced in the October 2019 issue, on newsstands September 24, which is devoted to one-of-a-kind design. Newman’s T&C debut explores a new watch collection of reimagined classic designs by Cartier, including the iconic Baignoire style watch from the 1950s.

Over the past two decades, Newman has contributed to print and digital features on jewelry, watches, and style, for leading consumer media brands. In 2018, Newman spearheaded the launch of Muse by Robb Report and prior to that was Robb Report’s deputy editor, where she managed the style and jewelry coverage. Prior to that she was Robb Report’s executive editor for more than a decade.
